Mixup Factory v0.3.0 (the local multiplayer build)

Well it was a close one, but as promised, I got the local multiplayer build out by the end of the year! A lot has changed since the v0.2 build - here's a synopsis of everything I can remember off-hand:

  • Adjustments made to Bettie's palette, tileset, ruleset, and also she's the main character now.
  • Added 2 new playable characters
    • Polly Trade: the card shark mermaid from Fiscal Jesters uses a smaller 4x4 board - perfect for beginners or all-clear enthusiasts.
    • Scootsie: the cat from Fiscal Jesters (and every other game I make) knocks items off of the edge of the board - it's as cursed as it sounds.
  • All characters have a few alternate palettes, plus matching tires and boxes.
  • Choose between over a dozen forklift colors!
  • Local 2-player multiplayer added
    • Endless: Two forklifts race it out until one loses all their tires. Tires are lost when a forklift's timer reaches 0 or when the opponent fills their forklift. Matching a line of bonus items activates whatever attack the pilot is thinking about at the moment.
    • Caravan: Two forklifts have 5 minutes to pack as many boxes as they can. They have no way to interfere with one another (yet).
    • Practice: A simultaneous practice mode.
    • All multiplayer modes run on Funny Jester rules for now (5x5 board, 4 bonus items on 2+ chains)
  • Menus significantly refactored
    • Game settings (volume, fullscreen, credits, tutorial) accessible via the title screen
    • Game mode configuration (player count, game mode, timer speed, etc) accessible via the boxes on the top of the title screen
    • Individual player settings (pilot, colors, control config, etc) accessible via the forklift menu - not everything is in place yet
  • In-game resolution doubled to make room for a 2nd forklift and all those menus. I'll figure out how to fill it more gracefully in future builds, likely.
